Is It Normal To Experience Sharp Pain Around The Lower Abdomen After Tubal Ligation?

I had both my fallopian tubes and one ovary removed about two years ago, I have had longer, heavier, painful periods since. To the point that I m now extremely anemic. I have very sharp stabbing pain where my ovary should be that comes and goes but sometime lasts for days. My GYN says that there s nothing that would indicate a reason for the pain. I ve even gone to see a gastrologist and they didn t find anything. Still having a lot of pain and very heavy bleeding, what should be my next step to finding a solution? Is this normal?

Hello,

Excessive bleeding and pain require further evaluation to identify any underlying uterine pathology.

Pelvic examination, pelvic Ultrasound and/or endometrial biopsy may be warranted at this point depending on your clinical scenario. So, please be advised to follow up with your ObGyn for detailed evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
