Is It Normal To Get Pain At The Stitches Area?

I had a csec to deliver my daughter on 09jul. Went for doc check up n doc cut off the knots of my stitches on the side n paste back another waterproof plaster. They told me the rest of the stitches will dissolve itself. However I m feeling pain n discomfort at my right side where the knots were. Is that normal?

Hi welcome to Healthcaremagic,
For absorbable suture materials, only the knots that protrudes out are cut off the rest of the sutures will get dissolved. It is usual to have some pain at the suture site for a few days to weeks. There is nothing to worry on that.
What you have to do is to inspect the wound site everyday. Avoid touching with your fingers. See if there is any red area or discharge, if so consult your doctor. Wash the site when you bath and mop dry.
Feel free to contact via Healthcaremagic in case of any doubt.
Thank you.
