Is It Normal To Have Black Eye After An Injury Of Cheek Bone?

My five year old ran into a tailgate corner almost two weeks ago which caused a horrible black eye. Where the corner hit below her cheekbone and made a small gash there is a very gard know there. Is this normal, she doesn not complain about it being sore.

Thanks for the query.
A black eye is a relatively common result of injury to the face or the head, caused when blood and other fluids collect in the space around the eye; swelling and dark discoloration result-hence, the name "black eye."
Most of the time there is no need to worry, it will go off slowly as the swelling decreases.
If the problem persists for more than 3 days , see a doctor.
Hope i helped you.
