Is It Normal To Have Dark-colored Mucus From My Nose And Mouth After A Bike Accident 15 Days Ago?
hi got a bike accident 15 days before , i got a small nose bleeding and stopped. as i wearied helmet i got some lite scratches on faces and a blood clot in right eye. now am alright, but two days later from the accident i can see sometimes the dark colour mucus is from the right side of my nose and even i can spit it from my mouth also, its not regular but its a bit frequent in morning and sometimes in days.
Dark colored mucus from your nose or mouth can be concerning. It may be indicative of old blood from your injuries. Get clinically examined by an ENT to rule out serious injury in the nasal passages or sinuses. Blood can turn dark as it clots and dries. Dark colored mucus can also be from Infection. Bacterial infections, in particular, can lead to darker mucus. If bacterial infection is detected, you will be treated accordingly.
Sometimes, during accidents, you can inhale dust-particles, these can be mixed with your mucus, giving it a darker appearance. If symptoms are persistent, get clinically examined by an ENT. You may need treatment if you have some internal injury.
