I m the primary caregiver for my mother who is in late stage Alzheimers after being diagnosed 17 years ago. I keep her on a varied diet which is Mediterranean for the most part, fish and chick as first class proteins, with varied vegetables, beans, some brown rice, sweet potatoes, fresh fruit, yogurt and soya milk. Inasmuch as she can swallow with great difficulty, I liquify all her meals which she takes easily though slowly. She is currently 89, 5 10 approx 130lbs and healthy overall. Her bowel movements are no longer daily. Is this normal and should I expect her BM s to be sparce and infrequent as her new normal? John
