My dear friend,
Itching during the
pregnancy is not a normal feature. Moreover you are describing white
vaginal discharge. Such white discharge with immense itching is due to either
fungal infection or trichomonal infection.
Fungal infection discharge is white and flaky discharge. It can be treated with
local antifungal pessaries. Trichomonal discharge is free flowing greenish frothy discharge.
Metronidazole treats trichomonal infestation very effectively. Apart from the medicines, some more rituals have to be followed for successful treatment and preventing reinfection. They are:
1. Both the partners have to take the treatment and follow this instructions simultaneously.
2. Clean shave the private parts
3. Boil the underclothes every day.
4. Woman should use panty liners for the discharge. Discard and change panty liners daily.
5. Cut short the nails.
6. Observe sexual abstinence till both of you are declared completely cured.
These conditions if treated properly can be completely cured. If left untreated may affect the eyes of the baby during delivery.
So please report to your Obstetrician to get treated successfully.
Wish you a happy motherhood.
