Is It Normal To Have Severe Pain While Giving Ducolax Suppository To A 4 Year Old Child?

I took my 4 year old to a GI specialist today because she had a hard time pooping. She told me that she was backed up and told me to give a ducolax suppository. I did but my daughter is in excruciating pain! is this normal or do I need to take her to the ER?

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:

Cramps; faintness; stomach discomfort.

Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue).
