Is It Normal To Have Sore And Tight Wrist After Breaking The Radial Bone?
I broke my radial bone above my wrist 3 weeks ago and its in a cast - i can move my fingers but when i do i get pins and needles and a vert odd feeling in my wrist. It feels very sore and tight around the wrist area. Is this normal and should i even be flexing my fingers? Many thanks in advance.
Everything you are describing is normal. Even though you are in a cast, your wrist is still broken, so it will feel weird for a while. You should also keep moving your fingers to make sure they don't get stiff.
This will help you get back to normal when you get out of the cast. Moving your fingers shouldn't affect the break at all, as long as the cast is well moulded and the break is stable.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Daniel Richard Paull, Orthopaedic Surgeon
