Is It Normal To Have Swelling And Tenderness When Suffering From Stye?
Hi, I had a stye (diagnosed by an ophthalmologist) a couple months back and had a black eye cause of this. I am having the same symptoms now in the same eye, swollen, tender, and it looks like i am getting a black eye again. Is this normal with a stye?
Hello It seems from the history that you are having stye. Stye is because of inflammation of the glands of Zeiss present in the margin of the eyelids. Since it is a inflammation it is normal to see inflammatory symptoms like swelling and tenderness in this condition. The treatment is by use of antibiotic eye drops and oral antiinflammatory drugs. Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and prescription of drugs.
Thank you
