Is It Normal To Have Variation In Heart Rythm During Pregnancy?
hi .. I feel my heart beats rhythm changing when my baby moves .. also my ankles are pretty swelled .. I just entered the 9th of pregnancy and it's my first baby.. should I be concerned ? or is it normal to experience this kind of symptoms? please help!
Hi, It is common for rhythm disturbances to be seen during pregnancy. This is because of the changes in the vascular patterns, hormones, basal metabolism, electrolyte and mineral inadequacies and in rare cases, due to predisposed heart arrythmias. If the disturbances is not associated with any other symptom like pain, breathlessness or dizziness, you may mention it to your health care provider and there may not be any need for further investigation. Swelling of the feet is common during the last month as the baby grows bigger and thereby occludes pelvic vessels leading to impaired drainage from lower limbs. Please lie down in left lateral position with feet positioned slightly higher to drain the fluid. You can also have barley water to relieve the edema. Please get regular blood pressure tests. Hope this helps.
