Is It Normal To Have Vomiting And Nausea With Low Thyroid Level?
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 8 months ago after a doctor noticed my thyroid was swollen. I was also suffering from recurrent nausea and vomiting. Blood tests confined I had a very under active thyroid and was instructed to take levothyroxine 100mg daily. After three months my TSH was just slightly over active but it was decided I remain on the same dosage. My nausea and vomiting had almost subsided and remained to do so for the past few months. Unfortunately one month ago the nausea and vomiting returned and after checking my TSH it was slightly low again. Although I haven't checked my results with my doctor as yet could this be the cause of my vomiting again?
Dear ma'm, hi! underactive thyroid is usually responsible for slow GI motility, loss of appetite and reflux. so your symptoms were probably relieved with treatment. now with the hormones moving in the reverse directions again you are having GI symptoms. this time because of hypermotility. so the message is keep your thyroid beutifully balanced. regards!
