Is It Normal To Not Get Pain When Suffering From Ear Infection?

is it normal to not experience pain with an ear infection? i have hearing loss, and it feels like something is stuck inside my ear. i went to my gp and he said my eardrum is bulging so i have an ear infection. i have had a cold for about 9 days now also.

I had gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

This could be acute otitis media. That is acute infection of ear, could be secondary to common cold.

I recommend the following.

1) A course of antibiotics.
2) Analgesics like tablet paracetamol for pain relief.
3) Oral decongestant like tablet levocetrizine with phenylephrine.

You will be fine.
