Is It Normal To Pass Stool Just After Eating A Meal?

I recently got back from the Dominican Republic. I have been a little more regular than usual when I defecate. I have been to Mexico before and experienced the same result. This is not a problem. I got back three days ago and it seems as if i may be worse. Everytime I eat a meal now, I have no longer than 10 minutes before I have to find a bathroom. Sometimes it is a cramping pain. It is not solid, but yet it is not all liquid either. More like an in-between, and the color is normal brown. I am just concerned because the timing of after I eat this happens everytime now. Should I be concerned, or is this normal?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of return from Dominican Republic, got little more regular than usual, you have to visit bathroom within 10 minutes of eating a meal, cramping pains, wants to know whether to be concerned or is this normal.
This is not at all normal.
The causes can be Inflammation of the intestines or other structures in touch with intestines.
Can be IBS that is irritable bowel syndrome.
I would advise you the following:
Consult a Doctor immediately.
Clinical evaluation, examination and order for investigations of :
Stool, blood and urine.
Ultrasound of the abdomen to start with and CT scan if diverticulitis is found out.
A course of an antibiotic, Metronidazole, probiotics and supportive treatment like multivitamins can helps you to get a cure within a few days.
If not you may need further investigations and management.
I find this answer helpful
