Is It Ok That My New Born Falls Asleep When Breastfeed?
our new born is sleeping a lot and we are having a really hard time waking her up for feeds and even then she falls asleep really quickly on the breast. We had ped appointment earlier today and everything was fine. since we got back home she has been really sleepy
It might be normal for a newborn to sleep 20 hours a day. But to assess if things are fine, the first thing to look for is the amount of urine that the child is passing. If the child passes urine more than 6 times over a period of 24 hours, it indicates that the child is getting adequate feeds and there is not need to get concerned. But if the frequency is less, it might call for medical attention.
