hey, i missed the first dose of rabipur shot and got it after 5 days. Is that something to be worried about. I am 22 years old and was a bitten by a domesticated labrador pup. The wound is just a dot sized and there was no actual bleeding but it was red.
Hi & Welcome to HCM. The first dose of Rabipurvaccine delayed by a few days makes no difference. There's nothing to worry about it. Since you were bitten by your domesticated labrador pup (which does not seem to be vaccinated against rabies) which has resulted into a dot size wound (abrasion without bleeding) and if you are not vaccinated (against rabies) previously then you should take one dose Rabipur vaccine on days 0, 3, 7, 14, and 28. Day 0 is the day the first dose of vaccine is administered. You may stop taking the vaccine IF your puppy remains healthy throughout an observation period of 10 days. In case if you are previously vaccinated against rabies then you need to take two doses of Rabipur vaccine on days 0 and 3. Besides, your puppy must be vaccinated and anthihelminthic medications to be given to it. Hope the suggestion given above would be useful.
