Is It Painful To Take Flomax To Treat Stone Stuck In Ureter?
I'm a female age 70 with a 8mm stone stuck in the ureter. I am drinking 70 -80 ozs. of water a day with lemon. The dr. gave me rapaflo for 1 week. I went back for another cat scan and it showed that the stone moved slightly but is still there. I have no more rapaflo. I would like to try flomax. I believe it does the same thing....relaxes the ureter, and hopefully stone will pass; otherwise, I will have another uteroscopy and stent whick is not fun. Would taking flomax for 3 or 4 days hurt?, Thank You
Thank you so much for trusting us with your health query.
I am so sorry to hear about this stone in the ureter. It is true that both drugs do essentially the same function but I will not advice you to take a drug that has not been specifically prescribed by your doctor. It may have the same active ingredient but the others are different and may not be tolerated by everyone.
II will encourage you to talk with your doctor before doing so. I hope the stone manages to get out soon.
