Is It Possible For Stitch Of Inside Of Nose For 7 Year Old Child?
yesterday, my 7 year old child hit his nose hard on the cafetria table at school. The ER nurse/dr said there is a laseration in the inside of the nose. they tried to quarterize it and use silverdine, but it's still bleeding. one of the doctors suggested seeing an ENT this morning to inquiry about getting a 'stitch' ...... I have an appointment to see the ENT this morning.
my question is ...1) can they 'stitch' the inside of the nose of a small child
2) isn't too late to 'stitch' something a day later
3) should the hospital MADE SURE the bleeding was stopped before they let us leave

Hi,
There is no problem taking stitch at this age when it is a must.
To have stitch after a day is definitely challenging as surrounding tissue might be induratied and brittle.
But after cleaning properly they might take stitch.
After stitching they will put tight gauze packing with glycerine and antibiotic lotion which will stop bleeding.
Ok and take care.
