Is It Possible To Carry Pregnancy With Tarlov Cyst?
Hi, I have a tarlov cyst along my S2-S4. I have had two surgeries, of which resulted in the cyst returning to full size again. Due to nerve damage I will not have any further surgery unless my symptoms worsen. I was just wondering whether a pregnancy could cause my cyst to rupture? and what this may cause if it did? I m finding very limited information in regards to living with a tarlov and carrying a pregnancy to full term and my neuro has been dismissive. Thanks
There isn't much information on severely complicated cases of tarlov cyst by pregnancy, but the pain experienced will certainly increase by a multitude. As for possible rupture of the cyst it is a possibility that the pressure of the uterus can cause an increased amount of pressure to the surrounding bones resulting in possible injury to the bony structures, but I can only accurately comment after looking at the x ray film and MRI if available in detail.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
