Sadly there is nothing that conventional medicine yet knows of that clears cholesterol from arteries to any significant extent. One study, the MIRACL study which used a high dose, powerful lipid lowering drug called Atorvastatin despite lowering the blood cholesterol level by on average 40% only achieved very minor reduction in the cholesterol in the artery walls. This is a much greater effect than is achieveable by most dietary means (not to say that a good diet is not worth it as there are plenty of other benefit quite apart from cholesterol). Though Atorvastatin did not really reduce the amount of cholesterol in the artery walls to any great extent, it did reduce significantly the risks of heart attacks and we now know that the cholesterol build up is accompanied by a lot of inflammation in the artery wall which the drug seems to damp down. The inflammation is what seems to trigger the heart attacks and is associated with the build up of cholesterol - no cholesterol no inflammation in the first place. Once more it demonstrates that prevention is better than cure so it is better to prevent the cholesterol getting there in the first place as though the drug reduces the risk of heart attack it definitely does not prevent them.

Hi,
Thanks for query,
It is not possible to reduce fat or cholesterol deposited in the arteries bye diet.
If you start taking low fat, carbohydrate in diet,it will be useful to prevent further deposition in the arteries.
You can take lowering of lipids, fat, cholesterol medicines like Atorvastatin and others.
Ok and bye.
