Is It Possible To Determine Biological Parents Through Genetic Genealogy?
My wife and I have three children. I have reasons to believe that my middle daughter name Jackie is not my biological daughter. I mentioned to my older daughter Rachel that, she wrote me back "Jackie did an ancestry check to see where her roots were from. I did it too. Ours were almost identical." I was not tasted and wish to find out if this is possible. Thank you Dror Rofe'
Thanks for putting your query at HealthCareMagic. When a person is born, he or she gets a set of genes (50%) from the father and another (50%) from the mother, each of whom have a pair of genes. Thus in case of any offspring the 100% of the genes come form either parents. If the genes of your daughters are mapped against both the you and your wife, it can be clearly made out whether there is a 50% match or a 100% match with the combined or composite pool comprised by the genetic material of both. In case there are 50% genes that do not match, your query would be justified. I would insist that you consult a geneticist to understand more on the matter.
