Is It Possible To Get Pregnant And Miscarry While On An Implant?

A couple months ago I got pregnant, and unfortunately I miscarriaged my baby. I am on the implant birth control and doesn’t seem to be giving me anymore problems. My question is, how did I get pregnant if I’m on the implant? I was on my period at the time as well (spotting).

Hi,

Implant is a progesterone type of hormone contraceptive. It has a side effect of having delayed, irregular, scanty or profuse periods. I feel if your implant was in its active time, if it's placed properly. What you thought to be pregnancy was possibly delayed period due to the hormone side effect and it was followed by spotting / profuse bleeding resuming abortion.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
