Is It Possible To Get Pregnant Despite Having Positnor 2 Post Unprotected Sex?

Good day to you. I have a 30 days cycle, and I had unprotected sex though it was the withdrawal method, on the 3rd of February which was supposed to be exactly 12 days to my next period on the 15th of February. Today is the 18th of February and my period still hasn t come. However, I took a dose of postinor 2 less than 24hrs after sex despite the fact it was the withdrawal method. Why is my period delayed please?

Hi,
I understand your concern.
Postinor 2 is plan B contraceptive, it has high hormonal content It is sure to avoid conception. The suarity of action depends on the time lapse between unprotected sex & consumption of pills. Ealier the pills are taken, more sure the result is.
So if you have taken Postinor within 24 hours of sex-- you will escape the pregnancy.
Postinor being hormone product, it tends to disturbe normal menstrual cycle. It can be delayed by 8-10 days maximum.
You will get it within next week. In case you don't consult a gynac to find other cause of delay in menses.
