Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello,

Yes, severe vigorous coughing can cause musculoskeletal injuries like concussion, muscle spasm, chondritis et cetera. So, first treat bronchitis so that your coughing subsides.

Best treatment of bronchitis is inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or salmeterol). So, consult pulmonologist and start inhaled treatment.

Apply warm water pad on affected areas of pain. Avoid movements causing pain. Take simple painkiller like Paracetamol or Ibuprofen medicines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Kaushal Bhavsar
