Is It Possible To Regain Sight After Retinal Collapse?
Hello, i am very concerned as my dad had his two lens implant operations last month. Things were looking great as his sight dramatically improved until yesterday morning. He woke up completely blind in one eye. He was told his retina collapsed. Can his sight be improved or restored or will he be blind for the rest of his life? Thanks
Hello and thank you for your question. It depends upon the extent of the collapse. Sometimes when people get a retinal detachment (or collapse) ophthalmologists can reattach it with lasers or other treatments and vision can eventually be restored. It is different each case. Your father's ophthalmologist would be best able to tell you if his condition is one in which he could regain some sight. Thanks for using HCM
