Is It Possible To Reposit The Lowered Chiasma Opticum To Get Back Vision?

Hello,
my sister (60 years) had a meningeom-op. After op, she was blind due to a damage to the optical nerve.
We don't know, whether the nerv was damaged by surgery or the chiasma opticum fell through the roof of the pituitary down into the sella turcica (perhaps before the op, she had a empty sella-turcia syndrom, so that the sella turcica was nearly hollow and the the chiasma opticum fell into it).
My question:
If the blindness is caused by the lowered chiasma opticum, is there any possibility to reposit it? The op is now 10 weeks ago.
If the blindness is caused by surgical damage, is there any chance to "repair" or regain its function?
Thankyou very much for your efforts.

Hello
It seems from the history that your 60 year old sister is having damage to the optic nerve following a surgery for meningioma.
The optic nerve damage cannot be reversed and it is the only nerve in the body which cannot regenerates once damaged. So irrespective of surgery induced injury or because of problem of the optic chiasma the damage to the optic nerve is permanent and it cannot be reversed.

Thank you
