I had a tumor removed 12 yrs ago c2-c6. Since then i have suffered spasticity left leg and back. Severe pain. Have been diagnosed with a tethered cor and have a syrinx. The problem i have is my cord where they opererated is very narrow. The question is can they wided my cord if the detether it?
I understand your concern and would explain that another surgery to remove the scar tissues, can be tried in your clinical situation. It could help improve the pain. But the spasticity is related to the damage to the spine and it does not improve. Physiotherapy is the best way to treat spasticity, besides drugs. I would also recommend trying amitriptyline for the chronic management of the pain. Hope you will find this answer helpful! Best wishes, Dr. Aida
