Is It Right To Stop Prenatal Vitamins And Its Effect On 3 Month Fetus?
Hi Doc,
My name is Judith, Am 3 months pregnant, about 13 weeks gone. I feel weak every morning and experience loss of appetite. Currently,am not on prenatal vitamins becauses i had to discontinue when i started having constipation and indigestion. Is it okay and wil my baby be fine.
Prenatal vitamins are important as they help in proper development of the baby. However supplementation is needed only if there is a deficiency of vitamins. Vitamins are also a part of our diet. Fruits and fresh vegatables are rich in vitamins. Fat soluble vitamins come from oild and food like liver. Also they are stored to some extent in our body in organs like liver.
So if you have had a proper diet then supplementation or no supplementation does not make a difference.
