Hello, and I hope I can help you today. I can answer your question here, but I cannot respond by email.
Your wife is being prescribed Heparin because her doctors likely tested her and found out her miscarriages were caused by a clotting problem in her blood. Certain autoimmune diseases, as well as inherited conditions, can make women's blood clot too easily during pregnancy, which can decrease the blood supply to the baby and cause miscarriage. Blood thinners are used to prevent this problem.
Sp your wife is receiving the correct treatment and should remain on the blood thinner as her doctor recommended. The medication does not harm the baby and is frequently used in pregnancy for this purpose.
I hope this advice was helpful and that I adequately answered your question today.
Best wishes, Dr. Brown
