Is It Safe To Continue Taking Montek LC For A Long Time?

I am taking montek LC from past 3 months..i have been taking in my past after a break of 15 days or a month. i find it is really helping me and i feel relief. Now i don t have any cold, sore throat problem and i am still taking but if i stope i keep sneezing due to my allery and sensitivity for dust and pollution. I had my FESS surgery done 2 years back. please suggest if it is safe to continue taking Montek LC

These medications are generally safe with few adverse effects.

Antihistamine medications can be sedating and this sedating effect increases with alcohol, so it is recommended to avoid alcohol. Another common side effect is dry mouth, so it is recommended to drink water and stay hydrated.

Montelukast may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, and sinus infections. Of more concern, is that this drug carries a black box warning of mental health side effects, particularly suicidal thoughts and actions.

It is recommended that patients discuss the risks and benefits of taking Montek LC with their doctors.
