Is It Safe To Discontinue Medications For Hypothyroidism During Pregnancy?
hi,i m 8 weeks pregnant and i knew yesterday that my tsh is 63.8 . 2 weeks ago my tsh was normal but now is too high .i had hypothiroiid for 5 months ago ang when i v been stable my doctor cut my peels.now i m so worry for my baby please help me what to do
Two weeks is a very short period for TSH to change from normal to such high levels. Anyway, if you are diagnosed with Hashimoto thyroidititis that is a chronic disease. You should start treatment with levothryroxine as soon as possible to avoid future complications of pregnancy and side effects to the baby.
An endocrinologist will typically recommend levothyroxine. This is a prescription medication that is the scientifically sound way to replace the deficient hormone in the human body. Please consult your endocrinologist for a prescription for the same and recheck the TSH level after 4 weeks.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
