Hi there, been prescribed by my doctor diazepam 5 mgm 3x a day for 2 weeks for piriformiss muscle whice is touching sciatica nerve been really helping me sleep.was on codeine for the first week only for the pain down leg. Take my last diazepam Thursday morning.feel ok been doing exercise and stretching moves.whould it be ok to have a few beers on Sunday as we got family christening.be really nice to have a drink but was UN sure how long the diazepam stayed in the system for before you could have a drink.not a big drinker not had drink for 4 weeks.thanks
Diazepam has a long half-life. It may take up to a week for your system to get rid of the drug. If you're still taking codeine too then you're already taking two types of drugs that reduce central nervous system functionality. Diazepam's levels would probably be as high as if you took the half doses or so, which is something to consider. Therefore you'd better avoid drinking that much.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
