Is It Safe To Give Isomil To Babies?

Hi. My baby is 6 week old. Crying very often, with little sound like he's hurting. Want to drink every 2 to 3 hours. sometimes want to drink just after feeding. awake for like 6 to 8 hours without sleep. He's drinking Lagtogen at the moment, Mother says I must change to Isomil? He's father was allergic to milk like Lactogen, S26 and Nan so she used Infasoy. Is it possible that he can be the same?

Let me emphasize on the fact that breast milk is the best feed for a baby and there can be no alternatives for the same. Most of the formula feeds are cow milk based and hence difficult to digest. Unless the child exhibits intolerance to lactose based feeds like lactogen, or other manifestations like diarrhoea or allergic reactions, there is no need to think that the child has milk allergy. Although children with family history are more prone, it is not necessary for the child to have milk allergy where soya based formula like isomil or infrasoy are indicated. Unless there are specific problems, you need not switch over.
