Is It Safe To Have Flagyl 3 Times A Day For Loose Stool?

i was hospitalized for 4 days early september 2014 due to intestinal amoebiasys. Now, it has been 4 days that i had loose stools and I felt the same way when I had amoeniasys last month. last month, I had my stool checked 5 times before the amoeba parasite was seen. I had loose stools for at least 6 days before i got admitted. before i was admitted, i already had my stool checked and it was negative of amoeba. it was only on the 2nd day of my hospitalization that it was positive. Is it safe for me to take flagyl 3 times a day without going to the dr?

Hello
I appreciate your concern
Antibiotics without doctor's advise is not recommended

In my opinion you should visit your doctor for still test and a confirmation of diagnosis
You may require a better alternative to Flagyl that your doctor knows

Self medication could be dangerous
Have plenty of fluids including ORS and fruit juices
This could be a viral infection and you may not need to take Flagyl, so consult your doctor

Wish you a faster recovery and good health
Best wishes
