Is It Safe To Have Garlic Treatment For Yeast Infection?
MI recently learnt about the garlic treatment that you insert in your vagina to treat yeast infection. I had a hesterectomy both my cervix and uterus were removed, is it safe for me to insert garlic clove in my vagina to treat infection? What if it doesn t come out since I don t have a cervix to protect it from going up?
No,garlic is not used to treat yeast infection and it is not safe to insert it. After clinical evaluation, you may need to take antifungal medicines like clotrimazole. Clotrimazole (100 mg for vaginal use)may be inserted deep inside the vagina at night for six consecutive nights. You may need few tests like routine hemogram, random blood sugar,culture/sensitivity and gram stain of secreted material for confirmation of etiology.
