Is It Safe To Have Intercourse While Having Retrolisthesis?

hi, im a 33 year old guy and recently i have been diagnosed with retrolisthesis....i could hardly sit for more than 15 minutes, and i have alot of pain bending forward or lifting heavy stuff. i even feel alot of pain after having sex! i was wondering if its safe to have sex? and what are the other does and donts that i have to follow. thanks alex

Hello and welcome.

Retrolisthesis is indeed a condition that results in various limitations. Sexual intercourse is a physically challenging process that requires flexibility, adequate mobility, strength and stamina. Some sexual positions may be challenging, so find the one that you are most comfortable with and you can continue to have sexual intercourse.

As for other activities, everything that tou are comfortable with can be performed. Things like lifting, bending several times, swift neck movements, carrying bags on your shoulders, etc; should all be avoided.
