Is It Safe To Have Intercourse With Condyloma Acuminate?

Hello my husband has been told he have condyloma acuminate maybe from several year ago and I would like to know if it is contagious. I have had the HPV test and pap smear and it turned out negative. I am confused about the whole thing. The dermatologist nurse tells me that it is not contagious and I can have a sexual relationship. I am not sure about that because if it is not contagious how did he get it? How do you find out if it is HV 6 or 11?

Infected partner can spread to other.
HPV 6 and 11 are mostly found and they can be differentiate by lab test called viral isolation.
DNA PCR and In situ hybridization are also techniques to differentiate both types of HPV.
There may be hidden infections also along with this.
Please consult your skin specialist for complete treatment.
Hope this will help you.
