Is It Safe To Increase The Dosage Of Doxepin As A Sleep Aid?
Hello,I have been prescribed 3 mg of Doxepin as a sleep aid after developing a tolerance to Trazadone. I took one tablet for the first few nights and it did not help so I then took 2 tabs as suggested by my GP, still to no avail. Would it be dangerous to up the dose to get the appropriate dosage on board? Please advise and thank you

The maximum dose for insomnia is 6 mg once daily. The dose may be higher for other conditions but this is the dose to help with difficulties sleeping.
It would be best not to go past this mark and to speak to your doctor since the required dose is not working for you.
