Is It Safe To Operate On A Kidney Stone, Insert A Stent, And What Are The Risks Of Having The Stent For 3 Weeks?
Hello, currently my brother is admitted to hospital for kidney stone. Sonography is done and stone size is 6.1 mm. Reports attached. Doctors suggested is for painkillers and salines for 24 hours which is not reducing pain. Doctors want us to wait for night Today and suggested an operation tomorrow morning. They explained us that they will crush the stone and put a stent in urine channel. Before going through the operation I would like to take second opinion. Is it the right decision to operate ? Is there any risk of this operation as stent will be present for 3 weeks? Any side effects afterwards?
