My TSH is currently at 4 and I am taking 125mcg/mg of Levothyroxine. Actually, my doc has me split in half, so it is around 62.5 daily, except on Sunday I am to skip my dose. I have no thyroid. Is this okay? I am having foggy memory and fatigue. Age 60, 65" tall, 179lbs.
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Levothyroxine is a thyroid medicine that replaces a hormone normally produced by your thyroid gland to regulate the body's energy and metabolism.
It is not safe to skip levothyroxine dosage. It is vital for your well-beeing.
Take levothyroxine exactly as prescribed by your doctor and follow all directions on your prescription label.
Foggy memory and fatigue can be symptoms of hypothyroidism and in your circumstances ,this condition can be caused by insufficient Levothyroxine dosage.
If you were my patient ,i will suggest to do the TSH test to see if your actual Levothyroxine dosis is OK or need to be adjusted.
Hope i have answered to your question. Let me know if i can assist you further.
