Is It Safe To Take Dazit For Swollen Lips After HPT Shows Positive Result?
Hi, I am Kirthi, 26 years old. My last menstrual period was on dec 4th and I am concieved now. I checked with self pregnancy tester and it showed positive yesterday morning. I got swollen lips from yesterday night. Doctor prescribed Dazit 5mg every night for 20 days. Is it safte to this this tablet at this time? Does it couase any damage to my baby?
Hi Kirthi, I have gone through your question. Dazit is desloratadine which is given for treating allergic reaction. In various studies done worldwide in animals, it is not found to cause any anomalies. But no studies have been performed in humans to prove its safety in pregnancy. Therefore it is not advisable to take it in pregnancy unless it is direly needed. I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to give you a safer antiallergic if possible. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Regards, Dr Deepti verma
