Is It Safe To Take Divalproex Sodium For Depression?

a new psychiatrist i saw today ordered this med,i told her i have taken many meds for depression that did not work, after reading the things that can happen i am afraid to use it even tho she will see me in a m0nth. the med is DIVALPROEX SODIUM ER 250 MG TAB.

Divalproex Sodium is a mood stabilizer. It's generally used for bipolar disorder. As you had long illness without any recovery, there are chances that you had bipolar illness. Usually, hypomanic episodes are missed in bipolar illness. 250 mg is a lower dose and it's given body weight wise. You need to go for regular assessment to look for side effects.
