Hi,

It is best if your wife takes the asthma medications. Asthma can complicate pregnancy and cause harm to mother and baby if not controlled. Deriphylline, antihistamines and steroids even oral can be used to control asthma in pregnancy. As it is more harmful to the pregnancy if she has an attack, than any harm from the medications.
A lot of women are worried about effects of medications on their babies and so do not take medications, which leads to serious asthmatic attacks in pregnancy.
It would be best if if she continued the medications as advised by her doctor.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
