I have been having high cholestrol for the last 4 years though has been controlled with use of Medicines. My concern is my medicine has been change 3-4 times during these four years and now my doctor has prescibed me Rozat F. Please advise if it is safe to take this tablet. I am genetically prone to Cholestrol
hello,I have gone through your querry. Thanks for choosing HCM.i would like to inform you that Rozat F is combination of Rosuvastatin and fenofibtare.you should know its side effect. 1.It can produce vague muscular pain over back, thighs and back. This is not at all serious and supplementation of Vit.D and calcium may eliminate it. 2.Effect on liver.for which one must monitor liver enzyme SGPT.This has to be checked initially after one month ,then every six months.and then every yearly. 3.Myopathy :effect leading to weakness of limb muscles.for this just like liver one needs to monitor blood enzyme S.CPK. following this one may need to reduce or stop medicine.please remember incidence of such side effect is hardly 2 to 3% in my experience. benefit is far superior of statins.so you must continue with regular check up. My best wishes. Dr.Teli,MD
