Is It Safe To Take Amberen And Endocet Together?

I am a 49 year old female who had a hysterectomy approximately 7 or 8 years ago. I am on my second course of Amberen. It worked very well for me the first time and I was able to go five months before I had to take it again. .I am in the second month of the three month course. I have been prescribed endocet for hip pain due to arthritis inflammation on the nerve. Are the amberen and endocet safe to take together? I didn t think to mention the Amberen to my doctor.

Hi & Welcome.

There is no documented harmful interactions between the two, hence they can be taken together under the supervision of your doctor.

Based on the history you seem to be taking Amberen to counteract the effects of surgical menopause (post hysterectomy).

Amberen is a dietary supplement which contains blend of succinates, amino acids, minerals and vitamin E that helps relieve most common symptoms of perimenopause and menopause by naturally restoring hormonal balance.
It is a clinically tested dietary supplement but not approved by FDA for the treatment of post hysterectomy symptoms due to hormonal imbalance.

However, the postmenopausal symptoms are usually best treated with the use of hormone replacement therapy in the form of estrogen and progestin combination.

Endocet is a combination of Acetaminophen and Oxycodone that is used to relieve moderate to severe pain like in arthritis or due to a pinched nerve.

Since there is no documented harmful interaction between Amberen and Endocet, they may be taken together under the supervision of your doctor.

Hope this will help.
