Is It Safe To Take Cerenia For Vomiting Bile?

I have a yorkshire terrier who has been vomiting all day. He has not eaten anything besides his food that we know of to cause this. He is now vomiting bile.I have Cerenia that was prescribed for him in 2009. It expired in 2011. Is it still safe to give him?

* Though Maropitant citrate is the best medication used for acute vomiting purpose, any expired medication is never recommended for any purpose.
