A few months ago I had a whole in my nail at the cuticle on my thumb. It got worse, bigger and flesh would stick out and it was very painful. I saw my doctor after a week or so. She recommended polysporin. The whole did close and grew out. My nail looks very weird and lumpy. Yesterday I noticed a new whole starting again at the cuticle. I know this time for sure I didn't hurt myself. What could be causing this?
