Is It Safe To Take Susten Through Out The Pregnancy?

I have 24 weeks of pregnancy, i have fallen in bathroom on hips due to slip, then my doctor recommended susten 200 twice a day orally till end of pregnancy. Is it ok to taken these tablets till end of pregnancy? Any harmful effects on mother and baby? Please tell. I will be thankful to you.

Hi,
Though Susten is being used in pregnancy when there is a suspicion of threatened pregnancy, it would be better to use micronized forms of progesterone as they are safer in pregnancy. Please ask your doctor for a review of the prescription. No documented harmful effects have been recorded, though, with the use of Susten and it may be given when there are benefits that outweigh the risks. Please take adequate rest, preferably in the left lateral position and have regular follow up and also sonograms. Hope this helps.
