During pregnancy doctor find out i have little thyroid so i was taking thyronorm medicine after that TSH was under 2.5 level Last week i have gone with ultrasound test in test doctor told baby weight is low, it was 2.23 KG so he asked to do thyriod test again. Now in my latest thyroid test TSh has become 3.22, and doctor is saying i will get delivery pain within 15 days. So right now he has prescribed below medicine argipreg powder, lycored tablet and Alivher tablet with this he has given betalite injection. Please suggest is these medicine are ok to take this time? Please advice on this
Hello, Thyronorm can be safely taken during pregnancy and in fact, it is essential that the hormone defect is corrected as otherwise it may lead to growth retardation and preterm deliveries. As the need for hormone supplementation increases during the course of pregnancy, you may have to increase the dosage from time to time. If your doctor feels that you may go into labor, there is no harm done as you are already term. The medications given are Argipreg powder-a nutritional supplement, Lycored tablet-vitamin supplement, Alivher-sildenafil, used to thicken endometrium, which is not needed in your case and Betalite is betamethasone which is given when delivery is contemplated around 34 weeks to enhance lung maturity. As the latter two are not necessary, please discuss before consuming them. Wish you safe motherhood.
