Is It Safe To Take Warfarin While Also Taking Coumadin For Protein S Deficiency?
I have been on warfarin for 14 years and will be for life due to a factor 5-protein S deficiency, in addition to a rea curing DVT which forced my DR. s to explain my reasons to continue a lifetime on this Maintenance medication. My question is, I have regular PT/INR s to maintain a therapeutic range which my Internal Medicine Dr. and keep in constant dialogue and don t want to make an appointment cause I have discussed this before with him and due to my condition. I am on 10mg and it is not a daily problem but at least 1x a week of late. When they drop my medicine down it throws off my blood results he explains which I control my vitamin K and diet intake with purpose. I don t drink alcohol at all so is it a reason for concern or due to the large amount of Coumadin is it standard for my situation to expect a little blood here and there. Thank you for your time.

for clotting in the blood
what happens as a side effect is that those
minor traumas and abrasion
which are unnoticed in most
might have small bleeding foci
also your dr is right that green leafy veg
and vitamin k are ideal ways to keep it under control
but not too much
since they antagonize the effect of warfarin
check pt/inr regularly
