Is It Safe To Travel On 2month Pregnancy?

Hi,

My wife is 2 months pregnant by last LMP ( 19-Jul-12 being the first day of last cycle ).

We are planning to travel by train ( 2-tier AC) from Chennai to Hyderabad which journey is 14 hours, and the local commutation by A/C Car.

Is it safe to travel at this point of time? Please advise.

Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

Yes, it is safe to travel during pregnancy and at this gestational age. She should be aware, though, that travel at any point in pregnancy with associated immobility can increase the risk of blood clots. She needs to get up and walk around a little at least every couple of hours if possible. Also, consider that if she is prone to nausea, she should ask her doctor for some nausea medication to take on this travel.

I hope that this helps and good luck!
